Outdoor Retailer, a frequent visitor to Denver, is returning in 2019. The January Outdoor Retailer and Snow Show takes place January 30th through February 1 at the Colorado Convention Center. It commences just in time for the Denver Broncos to play in Super Bowl LIII (which is totally happening….you heard it here first). Here’s more info on the Outdoor Retailer show in Denver, CO in 2019.
These dates are an adjustment from previous January Outdoor Retailers and will adopt a three-day format of Wednesday through Friday. Prior to the event, the buying groups behind the Winter Sports Market, Sports Specialists Ltd., and Snowsports Merchandising Corp. will join together for a pre-party of sorts. This takes place January 27th through the 29th.
The reason for the adjustment is due, in part, to people finding it difficult to attend an expo that occurs in early January. Many are still reeling from the holidays where they’re busy with family, parties, and decking the halls and what not. The move to the end of the month provides businesses and those who run them much coveted breathing room….and a chance to take down their holiday lights.
The move also places the January Outdoor Retailer into the proper timeframe of when retailers most want to see products (and when they’re likely to make their buying decisions). The selling season for winter sporting goods is short and fast, forcing retailers to be inside their stores during vital times. Moving the date helps boost attendance, giving more retailers a chance to step away from the office.
Outdoor Retailer Advertising & Marketing Opportunity Like No Other
Now that you know about the date change, what is Outdoor Retailer in the first place? To start, it’s not an event that’s actually outdoors (thankfully, Colorado isn’t known for pleasant January weather). Rather, it’s an expo that unites manufacturers, journalists, media, industry businessmen and businesswomen, and retailers. It brings them together to demo products, preview new lines, network, launch brands, make announcements, and provide education; it’s a retail rage! And the largest business-to-business tradeshow of this nature in the country.
In other words, anyone who’s anyone in the industry will be there.
Whether you’re planning to attend or send a representative, it’s the prime place to advertise – right in the heart of Denver. From billboards to kiosks, from taxi cabs to pedicabs, there are several ways to leave your mark. If you feel like getting creative with experiential marketing, sampling, giveaways or large format out of home billboard products an impact can be made.
