Auburn Football at Jordan-Hare Stadium
Auburn University is the second largest university in Alabama. A public research and land-grant university, Auburn has more than 24,600 undergraduate students and 1,330 faculty members. It is one of Alabama’s two public flagship universities and well-known for its football program.
Pat Dye Field at Jordan-Hare Stadium is home to Auburn Tigers football who compete in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) as members of the Southeastern Conference (SEC).
It is the nation’s 10th largest on-campus stadium, with a capacity of 87,451, and has been home to the Tigers since 1939. Auburn has earned 22 National Championships. On football Saturdays in Auburn, Jordan-Hare Stadium becomes Alabama’s fifth-largest city.
Tigers Basketball at Auburn Arena
In addition to football, Auburn also has a well-known intercollegiate men’s basketball team. The Auburn Tigers basketball team competes in the Southeastern Conference in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. They have won four conference regular season championships and two SEC Tournament championships. Auburn has appeared in the NCAA Tournament ten times, making it as far as the Final Four in 2019.
Built in 2010 to replace Beard–Eaves–Memorial Coliseum, Auburn Arena is a 9,121-seat multi-purpose arena. The $86 million facility is the home of the Auburn Tigers men’s and women’s basketball, women’s gymnastics, and women’s volleyball teams.
